MY DAILY SIGHTINGS...WITH SOME REPEATS.

BELOW IS A COLLECTION OF PLACES I PASS BY EVERYDAY NEARLY... I'LL GIVE LOCATION DETAILS AND MORE AS I GO ALONG... THIS IS IN WHITECHAPEL/BETHNAL GREEN, E1
This gem is what is called the Victoria cottages, more picture will be added later.... they are near St Ann's church and across the road from the Albert cottages. Victoria Cottages unlike the Albert ones are kind of trapped away from what London is really, a breath from the past.
The little alley between the Victoria cottages

Victoria Cottages Alley way

past the victoria cottages, this picture should be first, honestly, but this is the Montefiore Centre, it was once upon a time a school.

Bath House, on the way to Bethnal Green via Vallance Road, a daily sight on my way to visit my dearest and closest friend Yasmeen Z.

This beauty is behind the Bath House deep in Bethnal Green, well as it took one of our walks down history lane for us to come by it. and we had to take the kids there to take pictures!!!!
This is St Matthews church.
"this is the mother church of Bethnal Green where there have been people saying their prayers and celebrating life for more than 250 years."
quotation taken from the internet
Building it finished in 1746, in 1859 its interior was gutted by fire, it is said that the night it happened had been so called the firemen trying to save it were covered in a sheet of ice. the church as we see it is not how it was originally, 1940 bombings left it a roofless wreck, which was redone between 1952-1954.

Left Hand corner is a beautiful building, old no doubt but unfortunately we didn't have the time to go over to it, on account of heat and sore feet bothering us.

this plaque is at the back of the church near the entrance. around it is if i may say a very flimsy cone/tape contraption intended i guess to keep people off... it is lucky i respect places of worship, it would be better is it was protected in a more suitable manner in order to preserve its beauty and its history

I had noted the names wrong, and the dates on this grave but unfortunately i misplaced the paper. I do believe it is that of the wife of a warden famous i think, named Merceron.

William Davis Primary school, across the road from St Matthews Church.

This is across the road from the school on the same side as the church.

The school!!!!

WILLIAM DAVIS PRIMARY SCHOOL

ANOTHER STROLL THROUGH STEPNEY GREEN

You may wonder why on earth would i do yet another chapter Stepney Green... well no i'm not obsessed, yet, but i wanted to have my best friend the lady who does http://eastvictorianlondon.blogspot.com to see the area, the scenery behind the scenery really... and here are the little gems she help me to uncover...

This is what Dunstan Houses look like inside, on my first visit i had not found a way of getting in to take pictures, but this time, we did and here is what we found....
Dunstan Houses.

This house i believe is the first of a long row of houses, most of them (i could not confidently say they all are, my memory fails me here) from the 1730s.

This is 29 Roland House, Hayfield Passage, (once again although the owner and occupier of the this beautiful house told me i could not be certain)
A lot of information was given by the gentleman of this house and the lady kindly directed us to the appropriate source of information... a Big thank you for this Sir.

Roland House, Stepney Green.

Stepney Green has a lovely, no, beautiful building we've identified as a synagogue. Unfortunately we could not come closer to take more pictures, those two will have to do.

And in my nearly four years of walking so many times there, i had never seen it!!!!!

The Prince Regent Public House, in Salmon Lane, quite a hidden gem if i may say

Number 14 Coppenhaggen place E14, no longer Stepney green but the very same walk none the less

Burdett road has a lovely small row of those houses, it is situated just past the Lidl

A BIT MORE AROUND LIVERPOOL STREET....

This is the kings store, in Widegate Street. It was rebuilt in 1902, therefore was standing here during that beautiful era of the Victorians. The lady above is Tracey!!!!!!!!!Another narrow passage, cool.... on the right hand side of the picture, you'll see a lady with a scarf, well this is my best friend... Yaz

White Hart Court, below

still in White Hart Court, all of the remaining pictures....

Whatever you do, DON'T STAND near the wall.... its disgusting!!!!

see the views?

ARTILLARY PASSAGE..... OR speechless me alley!!!!!!!

Ok she says, go in a little bit and take a picture, so i went that way....
And if your imagination can remove those two unsightly bins, i was in awe....

oh, imagine that cone off too!!!! is it not truly beautiful?

I loved the feeling, the door and the lot of this alley...

there must have been a gate somewhere, and that wood is victorian for sure

See Ashby's sign? Is it not old? and those store fronts? lovely

Here i took that picture, i took it for the lampost, then i realised while focusing of all the stores framing the alley... then Tracey pointed one Ripper fact. See that car park right at the back?... that's where Miller court stood in 1888... and on November 9th 1888, Mary Jane Kelly became the last victim of Jack the Ripper... could he have hidden in the shadows of the Passage?

Artillery Passage, Liverpool Street!!!!!

This is the alley between Victoria cottages, in Whitechapel. a long, gorgeous row of houses on each side, beautiful peace emanates from the place.... pure and simple victorian beauty.

That was probably the best ending of a walk back in history
