THE WHITECHAPEL BELL FOUNDRY EST.1570






Situated in East London's Whitechapel Road E1, it was established in 1570 although it has been linked to a former premise back in 1420 near Aldgate, E1.




It is famous for casting the bell in the clock tower in the of the Palace of Westminster in 1858, namely Big Ben....




It is a Listed Grade 2 building and as such can not be altered in anyway. It has remained the same from the time when Jack the Ripper commited his terrilbe murders in 1888.
